KWON SOOHYUN

Kwon Soohyun’s work explores human relationships and the energy that emerges between people. Her figures are placed within moments of connection, exchange and mutual support, where emotion is not treated as something fixed but as a force that moves between individuals.

There is a quiet sense of optimism in her paintings. Encouragement, expectation and affection become forms of energy that are passed on, received and renewed. Rather than focusing on a single narrative, Kwon creates images that leave space for the viewer to recognise their own experiences of connection and belonging.

Kwon graduated from Sejong University and its Graduate School and has presented four solo exhibitions, including invitations from MediaZen (2023), Art Space H (2023), Gallery H at Hyundai Department Store (2017), and Gana Contemporary (2013).

Her work has been consistently presented through the Korean art market, including KIAF Seoul, Korea Galleries Art Fair, BAMA, Seoul Auction and Seoul Auction Blue. She has participated in more than ten art fairs and in Seoul Auction sales in Seoul and Hong Kong since 2011.

Her work is held in collections including River Park View in Chuncheon and Square B in Masan, and she has received awards at the Danwon Art Festival, Kyunghyang Art Exhibition, and Korea Art Exhibition, as well as the Grand Prize at the Sejong University graduation exhibition.
